Welcome to Seneca; a wildlife preserve like no other. For two decades, Seneca has housed the only remaining packs of Totem Wolves (canis lupus fortuna) . Totem wolves were a breed discovered among the polar ice caps in the year 2032, but, sadly, only five packs of the odd creatures remain today. Totem wolves are uncannily similar to the farmiliar Arctic Wolf (canis lupus arctos), minus their trademark characteristic. A certain symbol, a sort of hieroglyph can be found on each of the wolves' left flank, that represents each of the five packs. Because the symbol determines which pack the wolf can join, the new species was given the latin name canis lupus fortuna. There are some things that go into which symbol the wolf will inherit, but humans can use them to easily identify each pack in Seneca.
The site opened on August 19th, 2008. We don't focus on a major plot, but rather small plots between packs or characters that are hosted on the fifteen territories inside Seneca.

Totem is undergoing some cosmetic changes to ring in the New Year! We'll be back soon!
Now that we have at least one alpha for each pack, we can get started with our plots. Each person will now play a vital role in the survival of Totem - this site has already died once and I will not allow that to happen again! Please follow the guidelines below to help out the site and get our surprise plot started up!

;; advertise like nuts - we need more members to support the site and to help the packs grow larger. There is currently an advertising contest going on with a Grand Prize of 200 Shards, so please advertise!
;; please become active in OOC (out of character) posts. We will not have too many IC (in character) threads going right now, so the best you can do for now is to post in the other boards and get to know other members. A friendly community is more inviting than one that does not post at all.
Alphas:
;; besides following the above directions, you also need to find a partner to help you lead your pack. This time right now, Winter, is perfect because it is breeding season in Seneca. You MUST find an other alpha (male or female), whichever is the opposite of your gender. When more members show, try to make one of them your mate. You may choose whether or not to have puppies, and if you are going to, please follow the rules for mating.
;; be active at least two times a week. If you aren't (excluding Lucaven- he's a little busy) I will remove you and find another alpha.
